TDJC DATA Limited designed a comprehensive solution that addressed the physical limitations of the site while maximizing every pound of the client’s budget.

1. The Optical Foundation: OM4 Fibre Backbone

To connect the various production zones and office blocks without signal degradation, we installed a new OM4 Multimode Fibre Optic backbone.
• Why OM4? It provides a massive leap in bandwidth compared to older fibre, supporting 10Gbps and even 40Gbps speeds. This ensures that the high-resolution data from 27 cameras can travel back to the central server without "bottlenecking."
2. The Network Upgrade: Cat5e to Cat6
The existing Cat5e cabling was prone to crosstalk and was at its performance limit. We replaced the primary network runs with Category 6 (Cat6) cabling.
• The Benefit: Cat6 features a longitudinal separator (spline) that reduces interference, making it ideal for an industrial environment where heavy machinery can create electromagnetic noise. This upgrade ensured the new IP cameras received stable, high-speed connectivity.
3. The Surveillance: 27 Axis IP CCTV Cameras
We deployed a fleet of 27 Axis Communications IP Cameras strategically around the Trentham site.
• Features: These cameras offer Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, meaning they draw power directly from the new Cat6 data lines, reducing the need for separate electrical installs.
• Intelligence: The Axis system provides crystal-clear HD footage and advanced analytics, allowing the BAL team to monitor site safety and perimeter security in real-time.
