Structured Cabling & Containment - Goal Line Technology

TDJC Data carried out a large Project for Hawkeye as a third-party sub-contractor through another company. We’ve been involved in installing goal line technology since 2012 to the present day, and this has taken us all over the world, but mainly Europe.

Installing goal line technology (GLT) across the world involves significant coordination, collaboration, and implementation efforts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and fairness in football matches.

Project Overview:

The objective was to implement goal line technology (GLT) in football stadiums worldwide to enhance officiating accuracy and provide definitive rulings on whether a goal has been scored.

Our works involved were installing cat6 copper cabling, Fibre optic cabling new cabinets and containment if needed. We were also installing the (GLT) cameras and making bracketry for the cameras to be mounted upon.

Key Objectives:

1. Install copper cabling to the camera positions.
2. Install Fibre optic cables from broad casting area to the Hawkeye cabinets.
3. Install new cabinets.
4. install camera brackets to the structure of the stadium or design a bracket system.
5. Test all new cabling

Outcomes and Benefits:

• Enhanced officiating accuracy and fairness in football matches through the use of GLT
technology.
• Provided real-time feedback to match officials and spectators to confirm or disprove goal-scoring incidents, reducing contentious decisions.
• Improved confidence in the integrity of the sport and increased fan engagement by ensuring transparent and objective officiating.
• Minimized disruptions to the flow of the game while maintaining the traditional essence and excitement of football.

Through collaborative efforts and meticulous planning, the global implementation of goal line technology has transformed the officiating landscape in football, providing greater clarity and certainty in determining goal-scoring outcomes.
